 An adobe flooring, or earthen flooring, is determined by the sticky binding properties of clay. . Increase the clay abundant class sand, to boost compressive power and control shrinkage since the clay dries. And the setup is comparable to a concrete slab, just without the environmental influences or chilly character of cement. A normal adobe floor involves an accumulation of layers, each having a goal. I explain each layer below, for example, purpose it serves and (in some instances ) options you can experiment with.  This case illustrates a flooring set up"on grade", somewhat like a concrete slab. You might even set up the adobe onto a framed floor, but make sure you stiffen the joist framing to minimize bend, otherwise your flooring will crack over time. I'm sharing a simple version that's conceptually much like pouring a concrete slab. I find this system performs exceptionally well and is extremely forgiving to set up.
